Autism Awareness Day 2022 Autism is a neuro developmental disorder that IS characterized by deficits in social communication and social interaction and the presence of restricted, repetitive behaviours. This inhibits the ability of young children to communicate effectively. Some children also display some sensory issues which hamper their ability to maintain a sense of equilibrium. Why is this celebrated? World Autism Awareness Day celebrates the resilience of those affected by the disorder and supports causes that promote awareness of it. This year the theme for World Autism Awareness focuses on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all, as the foundation for improving people’s lives and reducing inequalities. Education forms the backbone of a child’s life. Children with Autism need to be accepted in the society for them to receive quality education. It is imperative that we as a society raise awareness of Autism and the effects that it has on a family. Be kind and bleed blue for Autism Awareness! #AutismAwareness
